To Close to home

I want to start out by saying, 'WE ARE SO BLESSED', this past weekend we have a killer storm ripe through our little town of newburgh missing us by about 1/2 mile. We had no damages or losses other than a loss of words being unable to describe the destruction around us. Saturday night we had went to a outdoor concert and was on our way home about 1:00 am, the wind was tough, Mike had a hard time keeping the truck on the road. Within 30 minutes after we got home the electric went out and you could hear the roaring and things hitting the windows. Little did we know what was going on. We went on and went to bed in the middle of the storm. I keep thinking if we would have been just 30 minutes later we would have been right in the path of this killer tornado!!!! The lord know to send us home early that night.

About an hour later (3:00 am) our phone starting ringing " Are you all ok? a tornado just wiped out Newburgh" with no electric and half a sleep we did not understand what was going on. After we found a flash light and a radio, we started to understand what was going on. We tried calling Mike's mom (who live about 2 miles from us, on the other side of town) and could not reach her. So we got in the truck and drove over there. We had to drive throught the comer of Vann Road to get to her. The pictures explain what we encounter in the dark only worse. Electric pole and wire covering the roads, pitch black, could not see where you were going. Car's going everywhere, just trying to check on there loved ones. It wasn't until after daylight did we find the real distraction.
As the days come, we are able to see more distraction all around us, if the path of this tornado would have continued as it was going, the MCKWOODRING would not be here today to share this with you. We fell the lord was watching over us that day/night and directed every step of the way. I would like not to forget about the ones that passed away that morning, god knows what is in store for them and it was their time to carry that plan through. The square concrete was where the building was!!! the white box truck was pushed 150 feet up hill into the building. what stopped it was the large ride just behind it.  

These were sleeping trailers that they traveled with, their works sleep in them. The were picked up and throw 70 feet and dropped upside down.

Getting ready to serve!!! Kelsey is really getting good at her over hand serving. She is one of two on the whole team that can serve over hand. The coach really wants the girls to service over hand if they can. She got out of running at practice alot of times cause if the over hand serve did not go across the net you had to run laps around the gym. Kelsey would hit her over every time just so she would not have to run laps. 

2005 Volleyball

Summer is over and school has started. With school starting comes VOLLEYBALL!!! Kelsey had played three games so far and won 1 out of the three. With the high rising cost of gas these days, we have all been staying close to home. Mike had his big Wiffelball Bash this past weekend. His team lost both games, but a good time was had by all and a lot of money was raised for cancer research. Better go, one of kelsey's little friends in IMing in and kicking me off.

What a weekend!!!!

WOW! WOW! WOW!
Is all I can really say, We went to the Coke-Cola 600 Nascar Race in Charlotte North Carolina this past weekend. Our first nascar race. WHAT A WONDERFUL TIME!!! GREAT RACE. Did not like how #48 won, he could have let #18 win, but #48 was being greedy and wanted it all for himself. I am ready to go to another race today, pack my bags and lets go. K love it, she said it was boring in spots but over all she had a great time. How can 22 caution flags be boring?She loves to watch #8 & #1, those are her guys!!!! We got to see a couple race shops, did not get to tour them but saw the outsides. Still cool. As soon as I get the photos uploaded I will post some.

Hello Again!!!

Hello again everyone, I hope you are able to view our family blog!!!! Some of you were not able to get the picture posted, and some of you were. I hope you all will be able to view them as I post them. Well we are getting ready (and excited) to go this weekend to the big Nascar race. The Coke-Cola 600. This will be our first Nascar race we have ever been to. So looking forward to a great time. See ya later.
